Learning Our UU Principles:
Every Sunday the children read through our seven UU Principles. Learning the principles can be a wonderful family project and it gives the children an answer when their friends ask what they believe and/or what their church believes.
Social Justice Awareness:
We are taking an offering in each classroom every Sunday. Each class will decide which social justice project they would like to support with their offering. This summer the children collected $50 and voted to donate it to Free Cakes for kids — a non-profit organization that provides birthday cakes for children living in poverty. This project will help the children become aware of life outside their world, and realize that they can make a difference.
Building a Community: Camp Starwheel
Each year we have a church retreat at a local camp facility over the Memorial Day weekend. For a low cost, this weekend get-away provides workshops, massage, singing, swimming, crafts, and ample time to get to know one another. This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with each other and to make some terrific new friends. Everyone is invited.
